Oak & Acorn Therapy

Welcome - I’m glad you’re here.

I’m a Registered Psychologist with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University (2019). Post graduation, I spent about 3 years in a remote community in the Northwest Territories, working as a mental health and addictions counsellor. That experience deeply shaped my approach and allowed me to support individuals and families from a wide range of backgrounds, each with their own unique stories and challenges.

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, but I believe it’s one of the bravest steps you can take for your well-being. My role is to walk alongside you, taking the time to understand your world through your eyes. You are the expert in your own life, and I strive to create a space where your experiences, values, and strengths are seen, heard, and honoured.

I use a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach, which means we tailor our work together to meet your individual needs, building on what’s already within you. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Play Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Attachment-focused approaches.

I specialize in trauma, working with children, and adults, including first responders. I’m trained in Play Therapy and as an EMDR Child Specialist. I welcome children aged 2, as well as individual adults navigating life’s complexities.

A little about me:

-I’ll drink iced coffee in any season. -My latest hyperfixation is crocheting. -My guilty pleasure is reality TV

If you’re considering therapy for yourself or your child, I’d be honoured to connect and explore how I can support you on your journey.
